I have really loved working with wax and learning about the different types to use for casting. I bought myself a wax carvers advent calendar over Christmas 2022 and have been using the tutorials to refine my carving skills to introduce new pieces of Silverpickle jewellery.

The Full Heart originally started life as a block of  Wolf Gold wax provided for a bead carving tutorial.  Ensuring both of the sides were identical was the tricky part, so the necklace can be worn either side facing forward.

Super smooth, the Full Heart wax  bead was then cast in solid sterling silver. The pendant measures 15mm across, 15mm in length and is approximately 7mm deep.  Each Full Heart weighs 7.9g, without the chain.  I drilled a hole sideways through heart, for the chain to run through, and shaped a channel so that the weight of the Full Heart would hopefully keep it upright on the sterling silver curb chain. Having test driven the heart for nearly a week the only time the heart flipped was during excessive movement (mostly chasing a mad dog around the garden!)

The Full Heart is hallmarked in Edinburgh and the stamp can be found under the drilled hole on one side.
