Sizing

When ordering a ring I always recommend ensuring you have the correct UK ring size before completing your purchase. If you are unsure of your ring size you can visit a local jeweller to get measured, if convenient, or you can add a reusable ring sizer to your basket in my shop. If you go on to purchase a ring from me, you will be given a code to redeem the cost of the sizer back.

Ring Sizer

If you are thinking of ordering a wide ring like one of my wrap rings, a set of stacking rings with more than four rings in it or a spinning ring then I highly recommend going into a local jewellery shop and asking for a wide ring measurement. A ring that is wider than 8mm usually requires going up at least one size from a normal ring measurement.

If you are using one of my ring sizers ensure it is pulled tight enough to be a comfortable fit but please make sure you are still able to move it up and down over your knuckle.

Sizing for a Bangle

When ordering a solid bangle it is important to remember that the bangle needs to move over the widest part of your hand before it sits round your wrist. I make my bangles in three different sizes:
If you have a bangle that currently fits you can use a ruler to measure the inside diameter.

If you don’t have a bangle to measure then please take a measuring tape or a piece of string/strip of paper to measure around the widest part of the hand, while the hand is in the position it would be in to put a bangle on (see picture below). Mark with a pen and measure your string or paper against a ruler to get the circumference. Use the size guide below to determine the size required.

If you require a size that is not included in my item size options please contact me directly to discuss.

Sizing for a Bracelet

Bracelets are made with a chain and include a rotating lobster clasp or a toggle clasp, depending on design. Sizing for a bracelet requires measuring the wrist with a tape measure or piece of string/strip of paper and measuring the circumference of your wrist. Measure the string or paper up against a ruler to work out the length you will require. Add on one or two centimetres for your preferred comfort.

Caring for your Silverpickle Jewellery

Sterling Silver is an alloy of silver containing silver and other metals, including copper. The addition of other metals is to ensure it is a harder metal, suitable for wearing as jewellery. It is the addition of the other metals, like the copper, that can make it react to the environment it is in. Swimming, perfumes and moisturiser, perspiration and air moisture can tarnish the silver as can storage. Silver loves to be worn so, if left in a box for a period of time, it can eventually become tarnished if you take a break from wearing it. Every Silverpickle purchase includes a little silver polishing cloth to tide you over but I recommend investing in a larger cloth to keep your treasure shiny and bright.
