Our most recent Scottish adventures took us to Aberdeenshire during the Summer of 2022.  We stayed near Huntly in a cottage on a beautiful estate and spent our days heading up to the Morayshire and Banffshire coastline with its stunning miles of beaches.  Findhorn Beach is just the most glorious stretch of sandy shoreline….although if you get there at high tide you will just find a pebble covered expanse up near the dunes and brightly coloured beach huts.  This is like my dream beach come true, a pebble bonanza.  The oddest thing that I found about Findhorn pebbles is that there is a high percentage of perfectly round, smooth pebbles…..like no pebbles I have ever come across before.  I was spoiled for choice and every time I thought I had found “the perfect pebble” I would shove it into my pocket as I found another!

My Machrihanish Pebble is a beautiful oval and textured pebble, on the larger side and hung on a longer chain, so it is nice to have a contrasting piece that is round, smooth and tactile and better suited to a shorter chain.  Could be beautifully layered.  The Findhorn Pebble measures 17mm across and weighs 12g.  I recommend an 18″ or 20″ chain for this pebble and you can choose your length of sterling silver Trace Chain below.
