Description
I have really loved making these chunky solid sterling silver hoops with charms. This pair is extra special because the charms include pieces of vibrant green seaglass from the north west coast of Scotland.
I was contacted by a customer who had collected a substantial amount of seaglass and had found someone to cut some of it into small pieces, that could then be set in silver for jewellery, and she asked me to make a ring for her using an aqua blue piece. We ended up doing a swap…..the ring for some of her cut seaglass.
The hoop itself is made out of chunky 2.5mm thick solid sterling silver wire (the same wire I use for a skinny bangle). The widest diameter ofthe hoop is approximately 18mm and weighs approximately 2g. I have flattened/flared the bottom end to so the charms don’t come off the end. After a few practice attempts I decided this wasn’t enough, as the charms are handmade and may have a wider bail when bought seperately, so I have added a little silver ball detail too. Those charms won’t be going anywhere now!
The little piece of seaglass is around 8/9mm in diameter and had been encased in sterling silver, with a bail added for the hoop to slide through. The total weight of the hoop and the charm (imcliding the scroll) is approximately 3.7g.
One pair available and they are ready to post.
The chunky hoops will arrive in a Silverpickle gift box, tied with ribbon, and includes a little polishing cloth
