My first trip to Gairloch. I don’t actually know why I have never been there before but I will definitely be back.

We managed to find a window of a few days that we could head north and the weather forecast looked amazing. We booked a pitch at Big Sands and were blown away by the location, with views across to the Outer Hebrides. I love a Scottish beach and Big Sands did not disappoint. We literally had the whole beach to ourselves at one point.

I am not a greedy beachcomber. I only have one thing in my hand at a time and it will be returned to the sand if something better comes along. On this occassion this little and perfectly detailed Scallop shell stayed with me. It cast into sterling silver so beautifully, you can see every tiny detail so clearly.  Its weight and size was perfect for an earring and so that is what we have.

The Scallop shell itself measures 15mm x 15mm and with the added bail the total drop, from the top of the hook to the bottom of the shell, is approximately 35mm. Each earring weighs a lovely 1.6g.

The Scallop Drops will arrive in a Silverpickle gift box, tied with ribbon and includes a little polishing cloth.
